| relating to a study by the Texas Education Agency regarding | ||
| standardizing building designs for public schools. | ||
| BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
| SECTION 1. DEFINITION. In this Act, "agency" means the | ||
| Texas Education Agency. | ||
| SECTION 2. STUDY REGARDING STANDARDIZED BUILDING DESIGNS. | ||
| (a) The agency shall conduct a study regarding standardizing | ||
| building designs for public schools. | ||
| (b) The study conducted under this section must: | ||
| (1) determine the feasibility of establishing a set of | ||
| 10 standardized building designs that a school district must choose | ||
| from when building a new campus; and | ||
| (2) evaluate the effective cost savings to individual | ||
| school districts from providing standardized building designs for | ||
| school districts building a new campus. | ||
| SECTION 3. REPORT. Not later than September 1, 2026, the | ||
| agency shall submit a report to the governor, the lieutenant | ||
| governor, the speaker of the house of representatives, and the | ||
| chair of each standing committee of the legislature with primary | ||
| jurisdiction over education that includes the results of the study | ||
| conducted under this Act. | ||
| SECTION 4. EXPIRATION. This Act expires September 1, 2027. | ||
| SECTION 5. EFFECTIVE DATE. This Act takes effect September | ||
| 1, 2025. | ||
