| BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
| SECTION 1. (a) | ||
| In this section, "department" means the | ||
| Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs. | ||
| (b) Using existing resources, the department shall conduct | ||
| a study on the number of incidents and causes of mold contamination | ||
| in housing developments that are wholly or partly supported by | ||
| financial assistance administered by the department. | ||
| (c) Not later than September 1, 2020, the department shall | ||
| prepare and submit to the legislature a written report that | ||
| summarizes the results of the study and recommends a course of | ||
| action for preventing and remediating incidents and causes of mold | ||
| contamination in housing developments that are wholly or partly | ||
| supported by financial assistance administered by the department. | ||
| SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2019. | ||
