A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
 
AN ACT
  relating to a study on the impact of psychotropic medications.
         BE IT ENACTED BY
  THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
         SECTION 1.  (a)  The Health and Human Services Commission
  shall conduct a study to determine:
               (1)  the number of suicides of persons having been
  prescribed psychotropic medication; and
               (2)  the length of psychotropic treatment completed by
  persons described by Subdivision (1) of this subsection.
         (b)  Not later than October 1, 2020, the Health and Human
  Services Commission shall file a report containing the results of
  the study and recommendations for legislation with the governor,
  the lieutenant governor, and the speaker of the house of
  representatives.
         SECTION 2.  This Act takes effect September 1, 2019.
