| BE IT ENACTED BY | ||
| THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
| SECTION 1. (a) The Health and Human Services Commission | ||
| shall conduct a study to determine: | ||
| (1) the number of suicides of persons having been | ||
| prescribed psychotropic medication; and | ||
| (2) the length of psychotropic treatment completed by | ||
| persons described by Subdivision (1) of this subsection. | ||
| (b) Not later than October 1, 2020, the Health and Human | ||
| Services Commission shall file a report containing the results of | ||
| the study and recommendations for legislation with the governor, | ||
| the lieutenant governor, and the speaker of the house of | ||
| representatives. | ||
| SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2019. | ||
