| BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
| SECTION 1. Chapter 1, Education Code, is amended by adding | ||
| Section 1.006 to read as follows: | ||
| Sec. 1.006. ACCESS TO CAMPUS BY FOREIGN CONSUL. A public | ||
| elementary or secondary school or an institution of higher | ||
| education as defined by Section 61.003 may not allow a foreign | ||
| consul access to the school campus or campus of the institution of | ||
| higher education if the foreign consul enters the campus with the | ||
| intent to: | ||
| (1) distribute foreign identification cards; or | ||
| (2) accept applications for foreign identification | ||
| cards. | ||
| SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2011. | ||
