| prescribed by the National Association of Insurance Commissioners. | ||
| BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
| SECTION 1. Section 4101.052, Insurance Code, is amended by | ||
| adding Subsection (c) to read as follows: | ||
| (c) For the purpose of Subsection (a) as it relates to | ||
| adjusters, the commissioner shall allow an individual to apply for | ||
| a license electronically using the National Association of | ||
| Insurance Commissioners Uniform Application for Individual | ||
| Adjuster or Apprentice License/Registration as it existed on May 1, | ||
| 2021. | ||
| SECTION 2. Section 4101.053, Insurance Code, is amended by | ||
| adding Subsection (e) to read as follows: | ||
| (e) The commissioner shall take any action necessary for | ||
| this state to participate in and adopt the application procedures | ||
| of the National Association of Insurance Commissioners national | ||
| insurance producer registry for the purpose of licensing and | ||
| license renewal for independent adjusters. | ||
| SECTION 3. The commissioner of insurance shall adopt rules | ||
| to implement Section 4101.053(e), Insurance Code, as added by this | ||
| Act, not later than September 1, 2022. | ||
| SECTION 4. This Act takes effect September 1, 2021. | ||
