| relating to changes to certain long-term care facilities' essential | ||
| caregiver policies and procedures. | ||
| BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
| SECTION 1. Section 260B.0002, Health and Safety Code, is | ||
| amended by adding Subsection (b-1) to read as follows: | ||
| (b-1) A facility or program provider that changes any policy | ||
| or procedure relating to essential caregiver visitation shall: | ||
| (1) post the changes to any Internet website the | ||
| provider maintains; and | ||
| (2) notify each designated essential caregiver by | ||
| telephone of the changes. | ||
| SECTION 2. Section 555.202, Health and Safety Code, is | ||
| amended by adding Subsection (b-1) to read as follows: | ||
| (b-1) A state supported living center that changes any | ||
| policy or procedure relating to essential caregiver visitation | ||
| shall: | ||
| (1) post the changes to any Internet website the | ||
| center maintains; and | ||
| (2) notify each designated essential caregiver by | ||
| telephone of the changes. | ||
| SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2023. | ||
