A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
 
AN ACT
  relating to changes to certain long-term care facilities' essential
  caregiver policies and procedures.
         BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
         SECTION 1.  Section 260B.0002, Health and Safety Code, is
  amended by adding Subsection (b-1) to read as follows:
         (b-1)  A facility or program provider that changes any policy
  or procedure relating to essential caregiver visitation shall:
               (1)  post the changes to any Internet website the
  provider maintains; and
               (2)  notify each designated essential caregiver by
  telephone of the changes.
         SECTION 2.  Section 555.202, Health and Safety Code, is
  amended by adding Subsection (b-1) to read as follows:
         (b-1)  A state supported living center that changes any
  policy or procedure relating to essential caregiver visitation
  shall:
               (1)  post the changes to any Internet website the
  center maintains; and
               (2)  notify each designated essential caregiver by
  telephone of the changes.
         SECTION 3.  This Act takes effect September 1, 2023.
