| BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
| SECTION 1. Section 2308.458, Occupations Code, is amended | ||
| by adding Subsection (f) to read as follows: | ||
| (f) The court may issue an order of release directing a | ||
| vehicle storage facility to immediately release the vehicle to the | ||
| owner of the vehicle or a booting company to immediately remove a | ||
| boot from the vehicle. If the court finds that the person to whom an | ||
| order described by this subsection was issued has not complied with | ||
| the order, the court may issue an order directing the person to | ||
| appear on a designated date and show cause why the person should not | ||
| be held in contempt of court. If the court then finds that the | ||
| person directly or indirectly disobeyed the order of release, the | ||
| court may find the person in contempt of court and impose a | ||
| punishment under Section 21.002(c), Government Code. | ||
| SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2013. | ||
