| BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
| SECTION 1. Subchapter E, Chapter 42, Education Code, is | ||
| amended by adding Section 42.25141 to read as follows: | ||
| Sec. 42.25141. ADDITIONAL STATE AID FOR SOCIAL SECURITY | ||
| CONTRIBUTIONS. (a) This section applies only to a school district | ||
| that provided social security coverage, as defined by Section | ||
| 606.001, Government Code, for district employees during the 2014 | ||
| calendar year. | ||
| (b) For each school year, a school district, including a | ||
| school district that is otherwise ineligible for state aid under | ||
| this chapter, is entitled to state aid in an amount equal to the | ||
| district's cost of paying contributions in the 2015-2016 and each | ||
| subsequent school year for a class of employees covered under the | ||
| social security program during the 2014 calendar year. | ||
| (b-1) The amount of state aid to which a school district is | ||
| entitled under this section is in addition to the amount of revenue | ||
| to which the district is entitled under Section 42.2516(b). This | ||
| subsection expires September 1, 2017. | ||
| SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2015. | ||
