| relating to trauma-informed care training for certain state | ||
| employees developed by the Health and Human Services Commission. | ||
| BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
| SECTION 1. Subchapter C, Chapter 656, Government Code, is | ||
| amended by adding Section 656.056 to read as follows: | ||
| Sec. 656.056. TRAUMA-INFORMED CARE TRAINING. (a) The | ||
| Health and Human Services Commission shall develop a | ||
| trauma-informed care training program for state agency employees. | ||
| (b) Each state agency shall administer the trauma-informed | ||
| care training program to the agency's employees who interact | ||
| directly with members of the public in performing the employees' | ||
| regular duties. | ||
| SECTION 2. As soon as practicable after the effective date | ||
| of this Act, the Health and Human Services Commission shall develop | ||
| the trauma-informed care training program required under Section | ||
| 656.056, Government Code, as added by this Act. | ||
| SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2023. | ||
