| relating to the creation of a search and rescue task force | ||
| BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
| SECTION 1. Sec. 418.043(20), Government Code, is amended to | ||
| read as follows: | ||
| (21) Incorporate, establish, and operate a search and | ||
| rescue task force in each of the department regions to assist in | ||
| search, rescue, and recovery efforts before, during, and after | ||
| natural or man-made disasters. | ||
| SECTION 2. T | ||
| his Act takes effect immediately if it receives | ||
| a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as | ||
| provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this | ||
| Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this | ||
| Act takes effect September 1, 2013. | ||
