| BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
| SECTION 1. Chapter 29, Education Code, is amended by adding | ||
| a new section to read as follows: | ||
| Sec. 29.206. STUDY. The comptroller shall evaluate the | ||
| efficiency and cost savings associated with this subchapter. The | ||
| comptroller may propose amendments to this subchapter, including | ||
| the recommendation to repeal this subchapter, to the Legislative | ||
| Budget Board, the Speaker of the House, and the Lieutenant Governor | ||
| no later than December 31, 2012. | ||
| (b) This section expires September 1, 2013. | ||
| SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2011. | ||
