BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
SECTION 1. Section 141.032, Local Government Code, is | ||
amended to read as follows: | ||
Sec. 141.032. LONGEVITY PAY. (a) Except as provided by | ||
Subsection (b), in [ |

or more, each member of the fire or police department is entitled to | ||
receive, in addition to all other money paid for services rendered | ||
in the department, longevity pay of $4 a month for each year of | ||
service in the department, not to exceed 25 years. | ||
(b) A member of a fire or police department who, after a | ||
break in service, is reemployed on or after September 1, 2017, by a | ||
department with which the member had previously served is not | ||
entitled to longevity pay under Subsection (a) for the prior | ||
service. | ||
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2017. |
