| relating to insurance adjusters' unauthorized removal or | ||
| inspection of vehicles located at vehicle storage facilities. | ||
| BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
| SECTION 1. Chapter 4101, Insurance Code, is amended by | ||
| adding Subchapter D-1 to read as follows: | ||
| SUBCHAPTER D-1. PROHIBITED CONDUCT | ||
| Sec. 4101.171. UNAUTHORIZED VEHICLE REMOVAL OR INSPECTION | ||
| PROHIBITED. A licensed adjuster may not, without the knowledge and | ||
| written consent of the insured: | ||
| (1) execute a document related to the removal or | ||
| inspection of a motor vehicle located at a vehicle storage facility | ||
| licensed under Chapter 2303, Occupations Code; or | ||
| (2) remove a motor vehicle from such a vehicle storage | ||
| facility. | ||
| SECTION 2. Subchapter D-1, Chapter 4101, Insurance Code, as | ||
| added by this Act, applies only to conduct that occurs on or after | ||
| the effective date of this Act. | ||
| SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2015. | ||
