| relating to the termination of a volunteer deputy registrar for the | ||
| submission of an incomplete application for voter registration. | ||
| BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
| SECTION 1. Sections 13.036(a) and (e), Election Code, are | ||
| amended to read as follows: | ||
| (a) An appointment as a volunteer deputy registrar is | ||
| terminated on: | ||
| (1) the expiration of the volunteer deputy's term of | ||
| appointment; [ |
||
| (2) the final conviction of the volunteer deputy for | ||
| an offense prescribed by Section 13.043; or | ||
| (3) the receipt by the registrar of a registration | ||
| application that is: | ||
| (A) submitted by the volunteer deputy; and | ||
| (B) not complete as required by Section | ||
| 13.039(b). | ||
| (e) The registrar may not reappoint a person whose | ||
| appointment as a volunteer deputy registrar is terminated under | ||
| Subsection (a)(2) or (3). | ||
| SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2011. | ||
