	A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
	AN ACT
	relating to the fee for a permit authorizing the movement of certain
	vehicles transporting an intermodal shipping container.
	BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
	SECTION 1. Section 623.404(a), Transportation Code, as
	added by Chapter 108 (S.B. 1524), Acts of the 85th Legislature,
	Regular Session, 2017, is amended to read as follows:
	(a) An application for a permit under Section 623.402(a) or
	(b) must be accompanied by a permit fee of $6,000, of which:
	(1) 32 [50] percent shall be deposited to the credit of
	the state highway fund;
	(2) 33 [30] percent shall be equally divided among and
	distributed to each county designated in the permit application;
	(3) 33 [16] percent shall be equally divided among and
	distributed to each municipality designated in the permit
	application; and
	(4) 2 [4] percent shall be deposited to the credit of
	the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles fund.
	SECTION 2. The change in law made by this Act applies only
	to a permit issued on or after the effective date of this Act.
	SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2019.
