| relating to training for peace officers on enforcing the Private | ||
| Security Act. | ||
| BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
| SECTION 1. Subchapter F, Chapter 1701, Occupations Code, is | ||
| amended by adding Section 1701.267 to read as follows: | ||
| Sec. 1701.267. TRAINING PROGRAM RELATING TO PRIVATE | ||
| SECURITY. The commission shall establish and maintain a training | ||
| program for peace officers on enforcing Chapter 1702, including | ||
| training on enforcing the provisions of that chapter that apply to | ||
| an alarm systems company, armored car company, courier company, | ||
| guard company, guard dog company, locksmith company, | ||
| investigations company, and private security consulting company. | ||
| SECTION 2. Not later than December 1, 2017, the Texas | ||
| Commission on Law Enforcement shall approve the curriculum for the | ||
| training program described by Section 1701.267, Occupations Code, | ||
| as added by this Act. | ||
| SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2017. | ||
