| BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
| SECTION 1. Section 261.103, Family Code, is amended by | ||
| adding Subsection (d) to read as follows: | ||
| (d) Each entity listed in Subsection (a) shall develop a | ||
| system that allows a professional, as defined by Section | ||
| 261.101(b), to make an anonymous report of suspected child abuse or | ||
| neglect. The reporting system under this subsection must provide | ||
| the professional with a unique number or other identifier that the | ||
| professional can use as verification of the professional's report. | ||
| SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives | ||
| a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as | ||
| provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this | ||
| Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this | ||
| Act takes effect September 1, 2013. | ||
