A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
relating to biennial projections of an equivalent equalized wealth
level and equalized funding elements.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
SECTION 1. S
ection 42.2541, Education Code, is added to
read as follows:
Sec. 42.2541. ESTIMATED PROJECTIONS. Not later than 30 days
after submission of estimates under Section 42.254, the agency
shall submit to the legislature projections for an equivalent
equalized wealth level for the following biennium that is
commensurate with the comptroller’s estimate of any increase in
total taxable value of all property in the state under Section
42.254(a)(2) and the agency’s estimates of student enrollment under
Section 42.254(a)(1). The agency also shall provide projections
for equalized funding elements under Section 42.007 for the
following biennium commensurate with estimates under Section
42.254.
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2017.
