| BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
| SECTION 1. Subchapter E, Chapter 508, Government Code, is | ||
| amended by adding Section 508.1451 to read as follows: | ||
| Sec. 508.1451. INFORMATION REGARDING PAROLE-ELIGIBLE | ||
| INMATE. The board shall develop and implement a policy to allow a | ||
| warden or other senior employee of a facility operated by or under | ||
| contract with the department to provide to the parole panel | ||
| considering an inmate's release on parole information regarding the | ||
| inmate's behavior and general progress while imprisoned in that | ||
| facility. The policy must allow the warden or employee to recommend | ||
| to the parole panel that the inmate be released on parole. | ||
| SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2011. | ||
