| committee. | ||
| BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
| SECTION 1. Section 29.046(a), Education Code, is amended to | ||
| read as follows: | ||
| (a) Money in an account assigned to a student under Section | ||
| 29.045 may be used only for supplemental special education services | ||
| and supplemental special education instructional materials | ||
| approved by the student's admission, review, and dismissal | ||
| committee under Section 29.048(c). | ||
| SECTION 2. Section 29.048, Education Code, is amended by | ||
| adding Subsection (c) to read as follows: | ||
| (c) The admission, review, and dismissal committee of a | ||
| student approved for participation in the program shall hold an | ||
| admission, review, and dismissal committee meeting for the student | ||
| with the student's parent before grant money is assigned to a | ||
| student's account under the program to determine and approve the | ||
| supplemental special education services and supplemental special | ||
| education instructional materials that would best serve the | ||
| student. The committee shall provide the student's parent and the | ||
| agency the list of approved services and materials for the student. | ||
| SECTION 3. This Act applies beginning with the 2025-2026 | ||
| school year. | ||
| SECTION 4. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives | ||
| a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as | ||
| provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this | ||
| Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this | ||
| Act takes effect September 1, 2025. | ||
