| BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
| SECTION 1. Section 255.001, Election Code, is amended by | ||
| adding Subsection (a-1) to read as follows: | ||
| (a-1) The disclosure required by Subsection (a) for | ||
| political advertising other than broadcast political advertising | ||
| must be in a font that is easily readable and type size that is no | ||
| smaller than 9 points. | ||
| SECTION 2. The changes in law made by this Act apply only to | ||
| political advertising that is published or distributed on or after | ||
| the effective date of this Act. The publication or distribution of | ||
| political advertising before the effective date of this Act is | ||
| governed by the law in effect on the date the advertising was | ||
| published or distributed, and the former law is continued in effect | ||
| for that purpose. | ||
| SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. | ||
