A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
 
AN ACT
  relating to including students enrolled in open-enrollment charter
  schools in the determination of a district's weighted average daily
  attendance for purposes of complying with equalized wealth level
  requirements.
         BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
         SECTION 1.  Subchapter A, Chapter 41, Education Code, is
  amended by adding Section 41.0033 to read as follows:
         Sec. 41.0033.  INCLUSION OF STUDENTS ATTENDING
  OPEN-ENROLLMENT CHARTER SCHOOLS IN DETERMINING WEIGHTED AVERAGE
  DAILY ATTENDANCE. Notwithstanding Section 41.001(3), a student
  residing in the boundaries of a school district who is attending an
  open-enrollment charter school is included in calculating the
  district's weighted average daily attendance.
         SECTION 2.  This Act takes effect December 1, 2017.
