| application for an exemption from ad valorem taxation. | ||
| BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
| SECTION 1. Subchapter C, Chapter 11, Tax Code, is amended by | ||
| adding Section 11.49 to read as follows: | ||
| Sec. 11.49. SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS. (a) In this section, | ||
| "supporting document" means a document required by this code or | ||
| other law to be filed with the chief appraiser to demonstrate a | ||
| person's eligibility for an exemption from ad valorem taxation. | ||
| (b) The chief appraiser may not post on the appraisal | ||
| district's Internet website a supporting document included with an | ||
| application for an exemption filed with the chief appraiser. | ||
| SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives | ||
| a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as | ||
| provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this | ||
| Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this | ||
| Act takes effect September 1, 2015. | ||
