A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
relating to the text of ballot propositions on the issuance of debt
obligations.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
SECTION 1. Section 52.072, Election Code, is amended by
adding Subsection (g) to read as follows:
(g) A proposition described by Subsection (f) must include
the following statement: "THIS IS A PROPERTY TAX INCREASE."
SECTION 2. The changes in law made by this Act apply only to
an election ordered on or after the effective date of this Act.
SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025.
