relating to the filing of a complaint with the Railroad Commission | ||
of Texas. | ||
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
SECTION 1. Subchapter C, Chapter 81, Natural Resources | ||
Code, is amended by adding Section 81.0593 to read as follows: | ||
Sec. 81.0593. COMPLAINT FILING ASSISTANCE. The commission | ||
shall establish: | ||
(1) a method by which a person may submit a written | ||
complaint to the commission: | ||
(A) through e-mail in a manner that allows the | ||
commission to provide follow-up assistance in identifying and | ||
obtaining information necessary for the commission to begin | ||
investigating the complaint; or | ||
(B) through a user-friendly format provided on | ||
the commission's Internet website that helps users identify the | ||
information necessary for the commission to begin investigating the | ||
complaint; and | ||
(2) a toll-free telephone number through which a | ||
person may obtain assistance in filing a written complaint with the | ||
commission. | ||
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives | ||
a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as | ||
provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this | ||
Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this | ||
Act takes effect September 1, 2015. |
