| relating to the filing of a complaint with the Railroad Commission | ||
| of Texas. | ||
| BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
| SECTION 1. Subchapter C, Chapter 81, Natural Resources | ||
| Code, is amended by adding Section 81.0593 to read as follows: | ||
| Sec. 81.0593. COMPLAINT FILING ASSISTANCE. The commission | ||
| shall establish: | ||
| (1) a method by which a person may submit a written | ||
| complaint to the commission: | ||
| (A) through e-mail in a manner that allows the | ||
| commission to provide follow-up assistance in identifying and | ||
| obtaining information necessary for the commission to begin | ||
| investigating the complaint; or | ||
| (B) through a user-friendly format provided on | ||
| the commission's Internet website that helps users identify the | ||
| information necessary for the commission to begin investigating the | ||
| complaint; and | ||
| (2) a toll-free telephone number through which a | ||
| person may obtain assistance in filing a written complaint with the | ||
| commission. | ||
| SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives | ||
| a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as | ||
| provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this | ||
| Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this | ||
| Act takes effect September 1, 2015. | ||
