| purchase or lease of the New Orleans Greys flag flown during the | ||
| Battle of the Alamo. | ||
| BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
| SECTION 1. Subchapter F, Chapter 401, Government Code, is | ||
| amended by adding Section 401.105 to read as follows: | ||
| Sec. 401.105. NEGOTIATIONS. (a) The office of the governor | ||
| shall negotiate with the president and government of the United | ||
| Mexican States to purchase or lease from the United Mexican States | ||
| the New Orleans Greys flag flown during the Battle of the Alamo. | ||
| (b) This section expires September 1, 2013. | ||
| SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives | ||
| a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as | ||
| provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this | ||
| Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this | ||
| Act takes effect September 1, 2011. | ||
