| relating to an audit by the comptroller of unpaid oil and gas | ||
| royalties held in trust by the Railroad Commission of Texas. | ||
| BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
| SECTION 1. (a) The comptroller shall conduct an audit of | ||
| any unpaid oil or gas royalties held in trust by the Railroad | ||
| Commission of Texas. | ||
| (b) Not later than January 1, 2019, the comptroller shall | ||
| submit to the legislature a report containing the findings of the | ||
| audit conducted under this section. For each unpaid non-claimant, | ||
| the report must state the name of the payee and the county in which | ||
| the land from which the oil or gas was produced is located. | ||
| SECTION 2. This Act expires January 2, 2019. | ||
| SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2017. | ||
