| relating to payments made to certain foster parents. | ||
| BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
| SECTION 1. Section 264.101, Family Code, is amended by | ||
| adding Subsection (a-3) to read as follows: | ||
| (a-3) In addition to the daily foster care reimbursement | ||
| rate paid to a foster parent under this section, the department | ||
| shall pay an additional amount equal to 40 percent of the daily | ||
| foster care reimbursement rate paid to the foster parent if the | ||
| foster parent: | ||
| (1) cares for a foster child who is 16 years of age or | ||
| younger; and | ||
| (2) has an adjusted household income at or below 150 | ||
| percent of the current federal poverty guidelines for the relevant | ||
| household size. | ||
| SECTION 2. This Act takes effect on the 91st day after the | ||
| last day of the legislative session. | ||
