| BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
| SECTION 1. Section 29.003, Education Code, is amended by | ||
| adding Subsection (c) to read as follows: | ||
| (c) Notwithstanding Subsection (b), a student who is 21 | ||
| years of age or older and under 26 years of age is eligible to | ||
| participate in a school district's special education program if the | ||
| student is otherwise eligible for the program as provided by this | ||
| section, and the school district admits students who are 21 years of | ||
| age or older and under 26 years of age in accordance with Section | ||
| 25.001(b). | ||
| SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives | ||
| a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as | ||
| provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this | ||
| Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this | ||
| Act takes effect September 1, 2015. | ||
