A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
relating to information contained in a protest of an application
for an alcoholic beverage permit.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
SECTION 1. Section 11.393, Alcoholic Beverage Code, is
amended by adding Subsection (f) to read as follows:
(f) The description of the procedure required by Subsection
(e)(5) must state that personal information provided in the protest
of an application for a permit under this subtitle is subject to
public information laws.
SECTION 2. Subchapter B, Chapter 11, Alcoholic Beverage
Code, is amended by adding Section 11.394 to read as follows:
Sec. 11.394. PROTEST FORMS. Any form used by the commission
to register the protest of an application for a permit issued under
this subtitle must state that personal information provided in the
protest is subject to public information laws.
SECTION 3. The change in law made by this Act applies only
to an application for a permit filed on or after the effective date
of this Act.
SECTION 4. This Act takes effect September 1, 2017.
