A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
relating to the issuance of specialty license plates to honor
recipients of certain military medals.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
SECTION 1. Subchapter D, Chapter 504, Transportation Code,
is amended by adding Section 504.3155 to read as follows:
Sec. 504.3155. RECIPIENTS OF MEDALS FOR NONCOMBAT ACTS OF
HEROISM. (a) The department shall issue specialty license plates
for recipients of the Soldier's Medal. License plates issued under
this subsection must include the words "Soldier's Medal" at the
bottom of each plate.
(b) The department shall issue specialty license plates for
recipients of the Navy and Marine Corps Medal. License plates
issued under this subsection must include the words "Navy and
Marine Corps Medal" at the bottom of each plate.
(c) The department shall issue specialty license plates for
recipients of the Coast Guard Medal. License plates issued under
this subsection must include the words "Coast Guard Medal" at the
bottom of each plate.
(d) The department shall issue specialty license plates for
recipients of the Airman's Medal. License plates issued under this
subsection must include the words "Airman's Medal" at the bottom of
each plate.
(e) A vehicle registered under this section must be for the
use of the applicant who qualifies under this section.
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2015.
