| BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
| SECTION 1. Section 62.014, Parks and Wildlife Code, is | ||
| amended by adding Subsection (e-1) to read as follows: | ||
| (e-1) For purposes of this subsection, "qualified disabled | ||
| veteran" has the meaning assigned by Section 42.012. The department | ||
| shall waive the fee authorized under Subsection (e) for a person | ||
| exempt from completing the live firing portion of a hunter | ||
| education course under Subsection (n) or a qualified disabled | ||
| veteran if the exempt person or disabled veteran takes an online | ||
| version of the hunter education course. A provider of the online | ||
| course may not collect the fee from an exempt person or a qualified | ||
| disabled veteran. | ||
| SECTION 2. The Parks and Wildlife Commission shall adopt | ||
| any rules necessary to implement Section 62.014(e-1), Parks and | ||
| Wildlife Code, as added by this Act, not later than August 1, 2016. | ||
| SECTION 3. Section 1 of this Act takes effect September 1, | ||
| 2016. | ||
| SECTION 4. Except as provided by Section 3 of this Act, this | ||
| Act takes effect immediately if it receives a vote of two-thirds of | ||
| all the members elected to each house, as provided by Section 39, | ||
| Article III, Texas Constitution. If this Act does not receive the | ||
| vote necessary for immediate effect, this Act takes effect | ||
| September 1, 2015. | ||
