| relating to human trafficking awareness training for members of the | ||
| legislature. | ||
| BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
| SECTION 1. Chapter 301, Government Code, is amended by | ||
| adding Subchapter F to read as follows: | ||
| SUBCHAPTER F. REQUIRED TRAINING | ||
| Sec. 301.071. REQUIRED HUMAN TRAFFICKING AWARENESS | ||
| TRAINING. (a) This section applies only if the office of the | ||
| attorney general provides an online human trafficking awareness | ||
| video and that video is available to be viewed by a member of the | ||
| legislature. | ||
| (b) Each house of the legislature shall require each member | ||
| of that house to view the training video described by Subsection (a) | ||
| at least once every two years. | ||
| (c) The member shall submit to the presiding officer of the | ||
| applicable house a statement verifying that the member viewed the | ||
| training video. | ||
| SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2019. | ||
