BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
SECTION 1. Section 521.142(e), Transportation Code, is | ||
amended to read as follows: | ||
(e) The application must include any other information the | ||
department requires to determine the applicant's identity, | ||
competency, and eligibility, except the application may not include | ||
an inquiry as to whether the applicant has been diagnosed with, | ||
treated, or hospitalized for a psychiatric disorder. | ||
SECTION 2. The change in law made by this Act applies only | ||
to an application for a driver's license filed on or after the | ||
effective date of this Act. An application filed before the | ||
effective date of this Act is subject to the law in effect on the | ||
date of filing, and that law is continued in effect for that | ||
purpose. | ||
SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2011. |
