A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
relating to water damage claims under a residential property
insurance policy.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
SECTION 1. Section 542.253(a), Insurance Code, is amended
to read as follows:
(a) The commissioner shall [may] adopt rules that [identify
the types of water damage claims that] require all types of water
damage claims to receive more prompt, efficient, and effective
processing and handling than the processing and handling required
under Subchapter B.
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2017.
