| relating to allowing a member of the board of trustees of an | ||
| independent school district to visit school campuses. | ||
| BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
| SECTION 1. Subchapter D, Chapter 11, Education Code, is | ||
| amended by adding Section 11.176 to read as follows: | ||
| Sec. 11.176. CAMPUS VISIT BY BOARD OF TRUSTEE MEMBER. A | ||
| member of the board of trustees of an independent school district | ||
| may visit any campus in the school district for observation without | ||
| requesting or obtaining permission from any school district | ||
| administrator or employee before the visit. | ||
| SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives | ||
| a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as | ||
| provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this | ||
| Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this | ||
| Act takes effect September 1, 2015. | ||
