relating to the issuance by reciprocity of a license to practice | ||
medical physics to persons who hold a license from the United States | ||
armed forces. | ||
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
SECTION 1. Section 602.211(a), Occupations Code, is amended | ||
to read as follows: | ||
(a) On receipt of an application and fee under Section | ||
602.203, the board may waive any prerequisite for obtaining a | ||
license to a person who holds a license to practice medical or | ||
radiological physics in: | ||
(1) another state, territory, or jurisdiction | ||
acceptable to the board that has requirements for the licensing of | ||
medical or radiological physicists that are substantially the same | ||
as the requirements of this chapter; or | ||
(2) the United States armed forces, including the | ||
United States Coast Guard. | ||
SECTION 2. The executive commissioner of the Health and | ||
Human Services Commission shall adopt rules to implement Section | ||
602.211(a), Occupations Code, as amended by this Act, as soon as | ||
practicable after the effective date of this Act. | ||
SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2013. |
