A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
 
AN ACT
  relating to the electronic mail address of a prospective juror.
         BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
         SECTION 1.  Section 62.0111(c), Government Code, is amended
  to read as follows:
         (c)  The county officer responsible for summoning jurors
  shall ensure that [purge] the electronic mail address of a
  prospective juror collected under Subsection (b) is kept
  confidential and is not disclosed to anyone other than the court,
  court staff, and attorneys and parties to the case on which the
  prospective juror would serve [:
               [(1)     if the prospective juror serves on a jury, not
  later than the 30th day after the date that:
                     [(A)     the county sends the person payment for jury
  service; or
                     [(B)     the county would otherwise send the person
  payment for jury service, if the person has donated the payment
  under Section 61.003; or
               [(2)     if the prospective juror does not serve on a jury,
  not later than the 30th day after the date that the court releases
  the person from jury service].
         SECTION 2.  This Act takes effect September 1, 2013.
