| BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
| SECTION 1. Subchapter I, Chapter 391, Transportation Code, | ||
| is amended by adding Section 391.2521 to read as follows: | ||
| Sec. 391.2521. COUNTY APPROVAL FOR CERTAIN COMMERCIAL | ||
| SIGNS. (a) The commissioners court of a county by order may | ||
| require a person to obtain county approval for the construction or | ||
| reconstruction of a commercial sign located adjacent to and visible | ||
| from: | ||
| (1) Ranch-to-Market Road 12; | ||
| (2) Ranch-to-Market Road 150; | ||
| (3) Ranch-to-Market Road 967; or | ||
| (4) Ranch-to-Market Road 1826. | ||
| (b) The department may not issue a permit under this chapter | ||
| to an applicant who is required to obtain county approval under this | ||
| section unless the person has obtained the required county | ||
| approval. | ||
| SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. | ||
