| BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
| SECTION 1. Section 71.155(a-1), Business & Commerce Code, | ||
| is amended to read as follows: | ||
| (a-1) The county clerk may waive all fees under Subsection | ||
| (a) for a registrant if the registrant is: | ||
| (1) an individual who is a military veteran, as | ||
| defined by Section 55.001, Occupations Code; or | ||
| (2) a business entity that does not have more than five | ||
| employees and is owned by at least one individual who is a military | ||
| veteran. [ |

| SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives | ||
| a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as | ||
| provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this | ||
| Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this | ||
| Act takes effect September 1, 2019. | ||
