A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
relating to electronic reports and correspondence submitted to
state agencies by public entities.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
SECTION 1. Subchapter F, Chapter 2054, Government Code, is
amended by adding Section 2054.133 to read as follows:
Sec. 2054.133. ELECTRONIC REPORTING BY PUBLIC ENTITY.
Notwithstanding any other law, each state agency shall encourage
public entities, including other state agencies, to electronically
submit all reports and correspondence the public entity is required
to submit to the state agency under law. The receiving state agency
as necessary may request the public entity to provide a paper copy
of a report or correspondence submitted electronically.
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2011.
