| relating to the members of the governing body of an independent | ||
| organization certified for the ERCOT power region. | ||
| BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
| SECTION 1. Section 39.1513(d), Utilities Code, is amended | ||
| to read as follows: | ||
| (d) The committee shall select members eligible under | ||
| Section 39.151 to serve on the governing body of an independent | ||
| organization certified under that section for the ERCOT power | ||
| region and shall designate the chair and vice chair of the governing | ||
| body from those members. When selecting members to serve on the | ||
| governing body, the committee shall ensure that the governing body | ||
| includes members who represent the various geographic regions of | ||
| this state. | ||
| SECTION 2. This Act takes effect on the 91st day after the | ||
| last day of the legislative session. | ||
