A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
relating to payment of expenses for certain elections.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
SECTION 1. Section 1.014(b), Election Code, is amended to
read as follows:
(b) For [Each county in the territory covered by] an
election ordered by the governor:
(1) each county in the territory covered by the
election shall pay the expenses incurred in that particular county
in the conduct of the election only if the election includes the
election of the officers of the county government or a measure
applicable to the county; or
(2) the expenses incurred in the conduct of the
election shall be paid by legislative appropriation administered by
the secretary of state.
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2011.
