relating to political party signs for a primary election. | ||
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
SECTION 1. Section 172.127, Election Code, is amended by | ||
amending Subsection (b) and adding Subsection (c) to read as | ||
follows: | ||
(b) The presiding judge or alternate presiding judge for the | ||
precinct may post signs at [ |
||
a polling place for a primary election or a primary runoff election | ||
that [ |
||
(1) identify [ |
||
symbols [ |
||
|
||
(2) do not refer to a candidate or measure on the | ||
ballot [ |
||
|
||
(c) The secretary of state shall adopt rules to provide that | ||
signs posted as authorized by Subsection (b) in the same county have | ||
a similar size and format. | ||
SECTION 2. Section 172.127(a), Election Code, is repealed. | ||
SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2017. |
