| relating to the secretary of state providing voter registration | ||
| application forms to high schools. | ||
| BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
| SECTION 1. Section 13.046(h), Election Code, is amended to | ||
| read as follows: | ||
| (h) The secretary of state shall: | ||
| (1) provide the registration application forms to a | ||
| high school at least once each school year; and | ||
| (2) prescribe any additional procedures necessary to | ||
| implement this section. | ||
| SECTION 2. This Act applies beginning with the 2021-2022 | ||
| school year. | ||
| SECTION 3. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives | ||
| a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as | ||
| provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this | ||
| Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this | ||
| Act takes effect on the 91st day after the last day of the | ||
| legislative session. | ||
