A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
 
AN ACT
  relating to the designation of a qualified transportation benefit
  as a supplemental optional benefits program for state employees by
  the Employees Retirement System of Texas.
         BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
         SECTION 1.  Section 659.102, Government Code, is amended by
  adding Subsection (b-1) and amending Subsection (c) to read as
  follows:
         (b-1)  The supplemental optional benefits program must
  include a qualified transportation benefit.
         (c)  The supplemental optional benefits program may include
  permanent life insurance, catastrophic illness insurance,
  disability insurance, or prepaid legal services[, or a qualified
  transportation benefit].
         SECTION 2.  This Act takes effect September 1, 2011.
