A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
 
AN ACT
  relating to the design of specialty license plates issued to
  members and former members of the United States armed forces.
         BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
         SECTION 1.  Section 504.3011(a), Transportation Code, is
  amended to read as follows:
         (a)  License plates issued under Section 504.303:
               (1)  must at a minimum bear a color depiction of the
  emblem of the appropriate branch of the United States armed forces;
  and
               (2)  may, on the request of an applicant for the license
  plates, include the words "Honorably Discharged" for license plates
  issued to former members of the United States armed forces.
         SECTION 2.  This Act takes effect September 1, 2011.
