| relating to the issuance of specialty license plates to honor | ||
| Polish Americans in Texas. | ||
| BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
| SECTION 1. Subchapter G, Chapter 504, Transportation Code, | ||
| is amended by adding Section 504.671 to read as follows: | ||
| Sec. 504.671. POLISH AMERICANS IN TEXAS LICENSE PLATES. | ||
| (a) The department shall issue specialty license plates to honor | ||
| Polish Americans in Texas. The department shall design the license | ||
| plates in consultation with the Texas Historical Commission. | ||
| (b) After deduction of the department's administrative | ||
| costs, the remainder of the fee for issuance of the license plates | ||
| shall be deposited to the credit of an account created by the | ||
| comptroller in the manner provided by Section 504.6012(b). Money | ||
| deposited to that account may be used only by the Texas Historical | ||
| Commission to preserve Polish American history in this state. | ||
| SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2019. | ||
