| supported by financial assistance administered by the Texas | ||
| Department of Housing and Community Affairs. | ||
| BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
| SECTION 1. (a) In this section, "department" means the | ||
| Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs. | ||
| (b) Using existing resources, the department shall conduct | ||
| a study on the number of incidents and causes of mold contamination | ||
| in housing developments that are wholly or partly supported by | ||
| financial assistance administered by the department. | ||
| (c) Not later than November 1, 2022, the department shall | ||
| prepare and submit to the legislature a written report that | ||
| summarizes the results of the study conducted under this section | ||
| and recommends a course of action for preventing and remediating | ||
| incidents and causes of mold contamination in housing developments | ||
| that are wholly or partly supported by financial assistance | ||
| administered by the department. | ||
| SECTION 2. This Act expires November 1, 2023. | ||
| SECTION 3. This Act takes effect on the 91st day after the | ||
| last day of the legislative session. | ||
