A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
 
AN ACT
  relating to a study on mold contamination in housing developments
  supported by financial assistance administered by the Texas
  Department of Housing and Community Affairs.
         BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
         SECTION 1.  (a)  In this section, "department" means the
  Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs.
         (b)  Using existing resources, the department shall conduct
  a study on the number of incidents and causes of mold contamination
  in housing developments that are wholly or partly supported by
  financial assistance administered by the department.
         (c)  Not later than November 1, 2022, the department shall
  prepare and submit to the legislature a written report that
  summarizes the results of the study conducted under this section
  and recommends a course of action for preventing and remediating
  incidents and causes of mold contamination in housing developments
  that are wholly or partly supported by financial assistance
  administered by the department.
         SECTION 2.  This Act expires November 1, 2023.
         SECTION 3.  This Act takes effect on the 91st day after the
  last day of the legislative session.
