| relating to expanding the number of dispensing organization license | ||
| holders under the Texas Compassionate-Use Program. | ||
| BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
| SECTION 1. Not later than December 31, 2024, the Department | ||
| of Public Safety shall license at least six dispensing | ||
| organizations in accordance with Section 487.053, Health and Safety | ||
| Code, including those already licensed as of the effective date of | ||
| this Act, provided at least six applicants for a license to operate | ||
| as a dispensing organization have met the requirements for approval | ||
| provided by Subchapter C, Chapter 487, Health and Safety Code. | ||
| SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives | ||
| a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as | ||
| provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this | ||
| Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this | ||
| Act takes effect September 1, 2023. | ||
