A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
 
AN ACT
  relating to expanding the number of dispensing organization license
  holders under the Texas Compassionate-Use Program.
         BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
         SECTION 1.  Not later than December 31, 2024, the Department
  of Public Safety shall license at least six dispensing
  organizations in accordance with Section 487.053, Health and Safety
  Code, including those already licensed as of the effective date of
  this Act, provided at least six applicants for a license to operate
  as a dispensing organization have met the requirements for approval
  provided by Subchapter C, Chapter 487, Health and Safety Code.
         SECTION 2.  This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
  a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
  provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution.  If this
  Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
  Act takes effect September 1, 2023.
