relating to expanding the number of dispensing organization license | ||
holders under the Texas Compassionate-Use Program. | ||
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
SECTION 1. Not later than December 31, 2024, the Department | ||
of Public Safety shall license at least six dispensing | ||
organizations in accordance with Section 487.053, Health and Safety | ||
Code, including those already licensed as of the effective date of | ||
this Act, provided at least six applicants for a license to operate | ||
as a dispensing organization have met the requirements for approval | ||
provided by Subchapter C, Chapter 487, Health and Safety Code. | ||
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives | ||
a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as | ||
provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this | ||
Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this | ||
Act takes effect September 1, 2023. |
